Japan's railway system already puts the rest of the world's locomotive efforts to shame. So why the need for another advanced and highly futuristic train? It's because they're badass, and this latest design proves why.
Remember the train from the Hunger Games? It looked like a hotel on wheels, which was pretty much exactly what it was. Well, Japan's JR East railway company has commissioned a new luxury train, the Cruise Train, that will be a way for the rich to tour the countryside. The train will cost around $50 million to build and will seat a total of 34 people. It will begin running in 2017.
